Clipdeck provides a clean, focused set of preferences that allow you to tailor the clipboard manager to your exact workflow requirements.
History Limits
By default, Clipdeck saves a generous amount of history. However, you can change the history limit to manage memory usage or simply keep your list shorter.
- Navigate to Settings > General.
- Use the History Limit slider or dropdown to select your preferred limit (e.g., 50 items, 100 items, or unlimited).
- Once the limit is reached, the oldest unpinned item will be automatically deleted to make room for new copies.
Global Hotkey & Startup
If Command + Shift + V conflicts with another app in your workflow, you can easily change it:
- In the Settings menu, click on the Global Hotkey recorder.
- Press your desired key combination (e.g.,
Option + C).
Launch at Login: To ensure Clipdeck is always ready when you start your Mac, toggle the "Launch at login" switch. Clipdeck runs as a lightweight menu bar background agent and will not slow down your boot time.
Content Filtering & Sounds
Sometimes you only want a clipboard manager for text, and you don't want it cluttering up your history with massive image files every time you take a screenshot.
- Ignore Images: Toggle this on to prevent Clipdeck from saving image data.
- Ignore Files: Toggle this on to prevent Clipdeck from saving copied files and folders from Finder.
- Play sound on copy: By default, Clipdeck operates silently. If you prefer auditory feedback to confirm that an item was successfully captured, you can enable a subtle "pop" sound effect on every successful copy.
