Clipdeck is designed to seamlessly integrate into your macOS workflow. It operates silently in the background, keeping track of everything you copy, and surfaces instantly when you need to retrieve a previous item.
The Global Hotkey
By default, you can summon Clipdeck from anywhere in macOS using the shortcut Command (⌘) + Shift (⇧) + V. This hotkey instantly opens the Clipdeck overlay, allowing you to browse your entire clipboard history.
Search & Dictation
When the Clipdeck overlay is open, you can simply start typing to search your clipboard history. The ultra-fast fuzzy search engine instantly filters your text, links, and file names.
Dictation: If your hands are busy, you can click the microphone icon in the search bar. Simply speak, and Clipdeck will use native macOS dictation to type your search query for you.
Quick Actions & Drag-and-Drop
Every clip in your history supports a set of Quick Actions that can be accessed via hover or keyboard shortcuts:
- Pin: Pins the item to the top of your history so it never gets pushed out by new copies.
- Delete: Permanently removes the item from your history.
- Paste: Instantly pastes the item into your currently active text box or application.
- Copy Back: Copies the historical item back to your primary macOS clipboard.
Drag-and-Drop: For images and files, you don't even need to use the paste button. Simply click and drag an image directly from the Clipdeck interface and drop it into an email, messaging app, or Finder folder.
Sticky Tear-Offs
One of Clipdeck's most powerful features is the ability to "tear off" any copied item. By clicking the tear-off icon, the item becomes a floating, translucent sticky note that stays on top of all your other windows.
This is incredibly useful for referencing a block of code, a phone number, or an image while working in another application without having to constantly switch back and forth.
