CmdTab is built with native SwiftUI, which allows it to hook deeply into the macOS visual rendering engine. This means you can customize the switcher to perfectly match your desktop aesthetic without any performance penalty.
Appearance Settings
By default, CmdTab respects your system's light/dark mode settings. However, you can override this in Settings > Appearance:
- Always Light: Forces the switcher panel to use a light material background.
- Always Dark: Forces the switcher panel to use a dark material background.
- Accent Color: Choose the highlight color used for the currently selected window. You can use the system accent color or pick a custom hex value.
Blur & Background
The backdrop of CmdTab uses a macOS vibrant material to blur the desktop behind it. You can adjust the intensity of this effect:
- Subtle: A light blur that lets your wallpaper colors shine through clearly.
- Medium: The standard macOS system blur (similar to the default switcher).
- Heavy: A thick, frosted glass effect that maximizes the contrast of the window thumbnails.
Thumbnail Scaling
Depending on your monitor size, you may want to adjust how large the live window previews appear:
- Go to Settings > Layout.
- Use the Thumbnail Size slider to scale the previews up or down.
- Adjust the Maximum Rows setting to determine how many rows of windows can be displayed before the switcher starts horizontally scrolling.
